Gamma Nail is an advanced surgical fixation system specifically designed for treating fractures of the proximal femur (the upper part of the thigh bone, near the hip joint). It is used in both stable and unstable fractures of ,the femur and can also be used for stabilizing bones and correcting deformities in various regions of the femur such as Intracapsular fractures (fractures inside the hip joint capsule) ,Trochanteric fractures (fractures of the bony protrusions on the upper femur), Subtrochanteric fractures (fractures just below the trochanter), Shaft .fractures (fractures of the long part of the femur) The Gamma Nail is also designed to work with osteoporotic (brittle bone) and osteopenic (weakened bone) .conditions, which are common in older individuals This system was developed to address unmet surgical needs in the treatment of hip fractures, making it effective in stabilizing fractures in the femur and femoral neck (the area just below the hip joint). The system includes a blade component that is useful for treating rotationally unstable fractures (fractures where the bone is unstable .(and might rotate out of place The Gamma Nail is available in two versions: short and long models (to fit different patient needs and fracture types). The long models have left and right versions for the femur. The Gamma Nail is available in the most .commonly used sizes, ranging in diameters from 9 mm to 13 mm and lengths from 170 mm to 420 mm ,Additionally, the blade (part of the Gamma Nail system) is specifically indicated for rotationally unstable fractures ,providing extra stability in cases where the bone fragments are prone to rotation. It is available in various lengths ranging from 75 mm to 130 mm.
